It started with one young patient
I founded Mend with Tori in 2016, when I was seven. My own time as a young patient showed me how much art can help a child through a hospital stay.
Each semester, I work with our hospital partners to learn what their patients need. Then I raise the funds, design a new art activity to meet that need, and produce it. The goal is to make art approachable and available to as many children as possible.
Along the way, I've seen how art brings patients, families, and hospital staff together. It makes the hospital feel a little more normal and gives kids comfort when they need it most. Our activities have now reached more than 2,000 children through 16 hospital partners in 10 states and Washington, D.C., and the program keeps growing.
